- Sought through prayer and meditation: Members seek to improve conscious contact with their higher power, praying for knowledge of their will and the power to carry it out.
- Carried the message to others: Having experienced a spiritual awakening, members carry the NA message to addicts still suffering and practice these principles in all affairs.
