September is Recovery Month

Get Ready for National Recovery Month in September

NAMA declares 2003 THE YEAR OF RECOVERY FOR METHADONE PATIENTS

Methadone patients have never been allowed to think of themselves as in recovery. This year the National Alliance of Methadone is declaring Recovery Month “The Year of Recovery for Methadone Patients.”

What can you do to make this happen?

  • When you go to your program tell other patients that they are in recovery. Shake their hand, tell them about Recovery Month and what this Special Month means for methadone patients.
  • When you go to your program tell the staff about Recovery Month and what this means for methadone patients. Ask them to plan an event for the clinic.
  • Tell your friends who know you are a methadone patient that you are in recovery and that September is Recovery Month.
  • Tell your family that you are in recovery and that September is Recovery Month.
