Gulf Coast Area

New Orleans

The recent hurricaine Gustav has again questioned the emergency response for MAT patients in the area. Some patients were just given a few days of take home medication and no other instructions. They did not know where to go if they could not enter the city within a few days or who to call. NAMA needs to know if this was common so please if you live in the area please let us know if your program did a good job or a bad job. You can post your comments at We Speak Methadone or by sending a message to the Executive Director Joycelyn Woods

September is National Recovery Month

Remember that September is National Recovery Month and NAMA will have more information about events. For way too long methadone patients have been denied to celebrate their recovery and this year will be the start of a new beginning.
