The ASAM has now reclassified addiction as a brain disorder, which is great news for us. Too long have we struggled with people thinking that our disease is about a moral failing, or a lack of will power.

What took so long? ;-) But yes, I agree... this will go leaps and bounds in helping MAT because once folks understand this as a DISEASE/DISORDER it's much easier to understand that it will require MEDICAL TREATMENT.

LOL< yes it did seem to take a while. I really do think though that as the ASAM is such a reputable organisation, that people should listen to what they're saying.

I wonder if treatments will change after this has been rolled for a few months.
