The rally in DC, which our very own Zac Talbot attended. Hopefully he'll be able to tell us all about how good it was! It looked absolutely jammed with people, which is really great, as it means that it's a subject that matters to many, many people.

I have mixed emotions. I was just interviewed for a piece that will appear in Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Weekly this next week (it usually comes out on Monday) about the rally --- In it I say that I'm happy for ANYTHING that causes more dialogue around substance use and the opioid crisis... but at the same time the GOLD STANDARD TREATMENT, medication assisted treatment, was only mentioned ONE TIME from what I could hear when a gentlemen from NIDA was speaking. It was mostly a celebration of folks patting themselves on the backs for being in recovery. And that's good and well, but I'm just not sure how it will "move the needle." Maybe (hopefully) I'm wrong. There were roughly 10,000 or so people I would say, though I haven't seen any official numbers. It was far from the "million man march" we were hoping for.
