I would love to get cert! I have been in MMT for 8 years! The day I started I was positive for opiotes..... Since then I haven't had a dirty drug screen.... Had s false positive after being there 2-3 years but I had it tested further and they seen it was a false positive. I would love to be a cert advocate!!!!! The only thing that is stopping me right now is my money issue.... My ins still isn't paying for my treatment and I have been fighting them the last 2-3 years.... Hopefully I'm close to getting one of my ins to pay! If so then I'll be able to come a cert advocate!!! I have a fb page telling how methadone saved my life.... Idk if its ok to post a link here.... If someone could let me know I'd appreciate it :)
Thanks!

There is a course that you have to attend, I think they usually offer one at the AATOD conferences, but Zac will know a lot more about this than me.

Alternatively, you can visit the NAMA website, here is the link for the next CMA certification course that is at AATOD Atlanta which anyone can attend;
http://www.methadone.org/certification/ ... ining.html

There is a small fee, but as NAMA is a non profit, and all the members and advocates are volunteers, I think it's well worth the money to become certified. We desperately need more advocates, so you would be a welcome addition!! :)

Actually Atlanta was this past course in March of this year.... the next CMA certification course will be held as a pre-conference session of the national AATOD Conference in Baltimore, MD in November 2016. (Clearly the CMA section of the NAMA website hasn't been updated since the training this past March!) ha.

The CMA course is always offered every 18 months in conjunction with the national AATOD conference... so it will move around and be in a different city around the U.S. each time.

In the event that my ins starts paying for my medication Then I'll be able to come to a conf further away from me.... :-) im all for being an advocate....
